Raul J. Cardenas
Dr. Raul J. Cardenas is a Board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in neck and back procedures. Dr. Cardenas graduated from Christian Brothers University and attended medical school in Nashville, TN. He then went on to complete his neurological surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery with Dr. Kevin Foley at Semmes Murphey.
Dr. Cardenas is a third-generation neurosurgeon and his father completed his residency and training at Semmes Murphey as well.
He is the 1999 recipient of the Tinsley-Harrison Award from the American Journal of Medical Sciences for research done on hemodialysis with Dr. Ellen S. Kang.
Dr. Cardenas is available to see patients in a timely manner. All tests associated with an initial visit can be performed in-house at Semmes Murphey for optimal convenience.
