Whitney Gatewood
Whitney Gatewood is a neurology physician assistant (PA) who joined Semmes Murphey Clinic in June 2016. She works under Dr. Lance Wright and sees patients for general neurological disorders. She has a special interest in headaches, dementias, functional neurological disorders, and multiple sclerosis.
Whitney graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Arkansas State University and moved to Memphis in 2014 to pursue a Master of Science in PA studies at Christian Brothers University. She joined Semmes Murphey Clinic in 2016 and holds certifications in headache medicine, multiple sclerosis, and brain injuries.
In January 2023, she and Dr. Katie Montry opened the first Memory Care Clinic in Memphis, which is now accepting new patients.
Today, Whitney is actively involved with the Physician's Assistant program at Christian Brothers University. She enjoys lecturing on various neurological topics. Whitney lives with her husband, a pediatric neurology resident, and their four dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys fencing, yoga, swimming, and true crime documentaries.
